The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Transitional Care Center provides delegated routine patient care under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, including tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and patient transport. This role requires valid CNA certification and BLS certification, with experience in skilled nursing or sub-acute care preferred. Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (Sub-Acute/Transitional) role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Charge Nurse. These duties may include, but are not limited to phlebotomy, EKG's, vital signs, monitoring, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned (Young Adult through Geriatric).
Supervisory Authority: None, however, expected to recommend actions to Lead CNA and Charge Nurse.
