Washington, DC Contract On-Site Flexibility/Remote: 100% PlanIT Group is seeking a COBOL Developer - Level III to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will be an experienced COBOL developer to help us code, test, research existing processes to meet the timeline for this project. Project was initiated by the customer team, with an aggressive timeline. Job Title: COBOL Developer - Level III Location: Remote Start Date: 07/21/25 Duration: One year plus annual extensions COBOL Developer - Level III Description: This application is coded in COBOL, we have a DB2 DB, and Neon Servers on the mainframe. We are looking for an experienced COBOL developer to help us code, test, research existing processes to meet the timeline for this project. Skillet: 10+ years of experience with COBOL & DB2. Experience with Changeman to create packages and promote code. Ability to scan libraries to find instances of key words / phrases to help research issues. May lead project teams within assigned unit develop, plan and manage project tasks Respond to incidents in ServiceNow Create ServiceNow Change requests following customer processes Participate in meetings relating to specific technical projects or tasks Ability to develop and maintain IT documentation. Independently analyzes and develops innovative resolutions for complex problems, implements solutions independently and as part of a team. Develops, plans, and manages project tasks. Provides training to less experienced team members, if needed. Additional Required Skills/Experience: o A minimum of ten (10) to twelve (12) years' relevant experience. o A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required. o Typically performs all functional duties independently. o Note: Special credentials (licenses and/or certifications) may be required at the Task Order level on a case-specific basis." Additional Provisions: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check. All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident. Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years. Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
