Position Summary

The International Operations Manager oversees daily air and/or ocean import/export operations, ensuring efficient and compliant movement of goods by managing staff, coordinating with carriers and clients, and using CargoWise + other tech to achieve company goals and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include leading the operations team, optimizing operational processes, monitoring performance, negotiating with carriers, foreign agents, and maintaining compliance with import/export laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Motivate & lead according to eShipping's mission, core values & 5Es

• Actively oversee the import/export operations process from origin to destination, overseeing daily activities to ensure efficiency, profitability & compliance.

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives (ie. Gross Margin, Customer Experience)

• Use data and metrics to make informed decisions, identify trends, and make evidence-based recommendations.

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for import or export operations and analyze data to identify areas for optimization and improvement

• Manage and mentor the operations team, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring effective task delegation and development.

• Identify & develop key talent to promote future leaders by encouraging professional development

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers, acting as the main point of contact for operational issues

• Develop and implement operational policies and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement.

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for import/export operations and analyze data to identify areas for optimization and improvement

• Other duties as required by senior staff

Specific Department Responsibilities

• Expert knowledge of FMC regulations, EEI filing regulations, and TSA IAC compliance.

• Maintain a CargoWise Certified Specialist certification or higher

• IMDG Hazmat Certified and/or IATA DG Hazmat Certified

Minimum Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3-5 years of experience in LTL, FTL, expedited, or international operations

• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heat and air‐conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
