The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing, both manual and automated, for all AJA products.

Requirements:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers specializing in manual and automated testing of embedded systems and associated software.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, and procedures for validating embedded hardware and software products.
  • Oversee the execution of both manual and automated test cases, ensuring test coverage, repeatability, and traceability.
  • Architect and implement scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Drive automation coverage and efficiency across unit, integration, system, and regression testing levels.
  • Define, document, and enforce QA standards and best practices for manual and automated testing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory or industry-specific quality standards where applicable.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product quality and QA process effectiveness.
  • Generate regular reports on defect trends, test coverage, and release readiness to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with development, product management, hardware engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify risks and resolve quality issues early in the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and quality considerations are incorporated.
  • Hire and train quality assurance staff.
  • Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Be available outside normal business hours when business conditions require it.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks in Python, C/C++, or scripting environments.
  • Familiarity with test management and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, TestRail, JIRA).
  • Hands-on knowledge of hardware testing methods such as board-level validation and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Experience establishing and tracking QA metrics (defect escape rate, test coverage, mean time to detect, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong team-building capabilities.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines that may extend work hours.
  • Commitment to adhering to company policies and supporting management decisions in a positive, professional manner.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • ISTQB certification preferred.
This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. The base salary for this position is $119,917 - $159,896. This range reflects base salary only and does not include additional compensation or benefits. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience, education, training and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
