The ideal candidate has great customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized Tribe with its ancestral homeland located in Niobrara, NE. The Tribe does not have a reservation in the classic definition; rather, the Ponca Restoration Act defined its jurisdiction as a 'Service Delivery Area' comprised of 15 counties throughout parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Within its Service Delivery Area, the Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:Handle cash, credit or check transactions with customersScan goods and collect paymentsEnsure pricing is correctIssue change, receipts, refunds, or ticketsRedeem coupons and save themCount money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Do paperwork.Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new onesResolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant informationBag items carefullyGreet customers when entering or leaving the establishmentOffer to carry out itemsMaintain clean and tidy checkout areasSweep and mop the floor at nightClean cooler doors and any spillsWipe off cartsTake out trashClean bathroomsMark down any products tossed due to spoilageRemove old sales tags put up new onesMake sure current ads are out and being distributedHelp with truckBreak down boxes and take out to garbageStock shelves (rotate it)Face the product (pull it forward)Keep reports on transactionsProcess returns and check to see if items are damagedAnswer customers' questions and get a manager if the answer does not solve the issueBag, box or wrap packagesPleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfactionRelationships and Authority:This position has no supervisory authority.Qualifications:Minimum:Previous retail or grocery experience is a plus but not requiredStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to lift and carry up to 40 lbsComfortable standing for long periods and working on your feetReliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidaysBasic math skills for handling cash and transactionsPreference will be given to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska members or members of a federally recognized tribe.
