This position opening is to be located at our Hiram, GA location.

The overall duties of a Project Drafter Include:

  1. Provides leadership and direction to project drafters
  2. Design and prepare electronic (CAD) erection drawings, shop tickets, and material requisitions from contract drawings and engineering calculations
  3. Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements
  4. Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and material requirements from sketches, specifications, contract drawings and responses to requests for information provided by architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and Metromont’s internal project management team
  5. Consult with engineers and project managers as needed to resolve questions
  6. Revise computer-aided designs and documents to comply with comments and changes to project scope
  7. Provide technical guidance to the Project Drafter regarding coordination of details between shop tickets and erection drawings
  8. Coordinates drafting work with engineers and architects
  9. Serves as a lead in providing direction to drafters

Characteristics:

  1. Able to read blueprints and drawings
  2. Able to create detailed electronic (CAD) working plans from data
  3. Able to make basic computations for strength and other features as required
  4. Follow pre-established guidelines
  5. Follow established technical specifications to prepare drawings
  6. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

Education and Technology:

  1. Associate’s Degree in Design, Architecture, or related field with coursework in computer-aided design (CAD)
  2. Knowledge of Revit preferred
  3. Minimum two years of drafting experience
