Auto Glass Service Dispatcher

Mel's Auto Glass is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to support our ongoing growth and expansion. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact between our customers and internal teams. Strong communication skills, a solid understanding of logistics, leadership skills to manage technicians and the ability to remain composed under pressure are essential for success.

As a Dispatcher, you will assist with scheduling daily jobs, maintaining smooth communication, and ensuring top-tier service for our customers and team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, technicians, and team members daily.
  • Read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Implement and maintain an efficient and organized dispatch system.
  • Schedule shop and mobile service work to maximize productivity, aligning with company policies and technician skill levels.
  • Maintain technicians' efficiency and productivity.
  • Prioritize and manage warranties to ensure prompt and proper handling.
  • Ensure accurate repair order documentation and proper completion of paperwork.
  • Monitor job status regularly, update timelines or cost changes, and communicate updates to the service advisor and/or customer.
  • Maintain timely, professional contact with customers throughout the service process.
  • Review completed repair orders to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Open and close repair orders efficiently.
  • Ensure technicians follow warranty and material handling procedures.

· Coordinate with the parts department for special orders and schedule appointments promptly upon part arrival.

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Support safety, housekeeping, and OSHA Right-to-Know policies within the service department.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to stay calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
  • Basic understanding of scheduling, logistics, and dispatch operations.
  • Computer Skills, Excel, GPS programs
  • Previous experience in dispatch, customer service, or auto service environments is preferred but not required.
  • Automobile knowledge is helpful
  • Knowledge of the Tri-State Area

Work Environment:

  • This is an on-site position; remote work is not available .
