JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor

Location: Ayer, MA

Duration: Direct Hire

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 depending on experience

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday – Friday

Supervision: Oversees 25 production employees

Job Summary:

HW Staffing is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a high-performing team on 2nd shift at our Ayer, MA manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll oversee daily production operations, ensure safety and quality standards are upheld, and act as the facility’s primary decision-maker during your shift. Ideal for a candidate with strong leadership skills, manufacturing experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of ~25 production staff to meet goals in safety, quality, and productivity
• Monitor KPIs and implement adjustments to ensure operational efficiency
• Set clear performance expectations and provide real-time feedback and support
• Ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime through proactive oversight
• Promote a culture of safety and enforce Health, Safety, FDA, and GMP compliance
• Collaborate with HR on hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations
• Validate food safety and product quality checks throughout the shift
• Provide real-time problem-solving support for production issues
• Foster teamwork and communication across all departments on off-shifts

Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years in high-speed manufacturing
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments and adaptable to change
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and production tracking software
• Experience in consumer-packaged goods is a plus
